The last snow - part 2

Previously: The last snow - part 2

Sorry for the wait. But my coffee machine was on repair.
Here is the next part.

Rohan was scribbling something in a book. When the girls bumped into him. Sneha was the one to break the ice. She said, “Looks like someone is already on a mission to compete with me.” Rohan immediately closed the book and said “Sorry? I did not get you.” He was puzzled. “Hi. I am Sneha. Sorry for what I said. It's just that I am good in academics and I love flaunting it.” with a wink and a naughty smile she made Rohan's puzzled look to disappear. Rohan was now uncomfortable, but he mastered in not showing it. He replied back with a casual Hi to Sneha. Roshni was standing and acting being dumb in the whole conversation, when Sneha hits her with an elbow and raises her eyebrows to her. Roshni then hesitatingly turns towards Rohan and says “Hey.. I am Roshni. Umm.. Welcome to Gangtok.” Faking a smile she reaches Rohan for a handshake. Rohan responds her wisely. Sneha spills the beans again and says let's go we will show you the college around. Rohan grabs his bag and they leave the classroom.

Sneha: “Are you hungry?”
Rohan: “No, but I would love to have coffee in this chilled weather.”
Sneha: “Let's go cafeteria first.”
Rohan: “Okay.”

(Roshni's side - Look at her, she completely forgot my existence. She did not even bother to ask me! I hope this ends as a punishment I can't bare this everyday.

Rohan's side - I hope this ends soon. Why I need to be with these girls? I could have seen the college by myself.)

When they enter the cafeteria, they do receive stares from the few. Half wondering who was the guy. And other half seeing a guy accompanying these girls.

Sneha was known for her over friendliness and being always one of the top scorer in her class. While Roshni was the arrogant and stay away from me types. Their fellow mates envied Sneha and were jealous of Roshni. And their friendship made others go nuts  because they were inseparable and always there for each other through thick and thin. And here a company of a good looking guy with them added smoke to the fire.

They sat on a table cornered near the windows hiding those stares. Rohan and Roshni sat opposite each other while Sneha went to the billing counter for getting the tokens to buy coffee. And her absence left Roshni and Rohan in utter silence. They both were quiet and were looking every possible place except each other. “Here. I brought coffee and hot maggi noodles for everyone.”  “Thanks.” Rohan and Roshni together said. “Oh..Okay,” Sneha sits beside Rohan.

Coffee was Roshni's weakness. She immediately took the coffee glass and smelled it before her first sip. And Rohan started staring her. She took the first sip and the brew made a small mustache above her lips. Rohan kept staring her with a blank look may be lost in too many thoughts. He forgot that he was staring a girl like that. Roshni looked upon and saw Rohan staring. She wiped off the brew with her handkerchief the very first time, as she was used to wipe it by always licking it off by her tongue. Even after this move Roshni had no idea what Rohan's stares meant which was still undisturbed. For all this while Sneha kept silent and was observed both of them. She saw Roshni getting uncomfortable and she snapped her fingers in front of Rohan and broke his thoughts. And being busted Rohan was embarrassed. Sneha broke out laughing saying “Mr. Rohan, you were checking out the coffee or ahem ahem..” “Sneha stop it,”  Roshni shot back.

Rohan who was embarrassed and lost in his past finally said “I am really sorry Roshni, I didn't mean it. I mean I was not staring or checking you out. Trust me. Sorry for making me feel uncomfortable.” Roshni smiled this time a real one and said, “It's okay. It's fine. Chill like the weather.”

After the embarrassments and apologies, all of them concentrated on their maggi and coffee. “May I know what made you stare me?” Roshni made sure she was polite enough not to hurt Rohan. “Umm..Actually the way you smelt the coffee and got the mustache reminded me of someone.” Rohan tried not to sound hurt. “Okay. No problem.” She smiled. He smiled back.

They did not realize the break time was over. Sneha looking at her watch with a mouthful of noodles said, let's go we are late. They hurriedly took their backpacks and left the canteen. The moment they reached the class they came to knew the lecture was canceled. Roshni was sad as she could not believe she came all the way only for three hour mathematics session. Sneha was sad as her favorite Statistics lecture got canceled.

But Rohan was happy since he can escape now from all the awkwardness. He said, “Okay, Bye I am leaving.” “But..hey okay bye.” Sneha could hardly complete her sentence. Roshni wondered and thought there's mystery in this guy's behavior and actions. Never mind. “Common lets go home, Sneha!” Roshni holds Sneha's hands. “Yeah, okay!” let's go. Sneha disappointed.

Today, after a long time I had company of girls. May be friends. And Roshni reminded me of her. - Rohan wrote it closing his dairy. And went to his bed. Lost in her thoughts.

A/N: Whom did Roshni reminded Rohan of? Was Roshni interested knowing the mystery? Does all this matter Sneha?

Stay tuned. Keep reading and commenting.
