The last snow - part 9
I wished we lived a movie life where everything used to be perfectly right at the end. But unfortunately, reel and real have a lot more in difference than just an "e" between them.

Hardest decision of your life is not when you are about to die. It's when someone close to you is about to die. Today when Diya was struggling between life and death, it was only death for Rohan after hearing Doctor's words. Her parents were not ready for this, in fact, no parent ever want this.
Doctor: "I can understand your pain and making a decision like this is terrible. But there is nothing much I can do."
Rohan was quite and self-blaming himself in his mind for everything happening around. Diya's mom was profusely crying whereas Diya's Dad didn't know whether he should decide or leave everything in God's hand. Rohan's Dad was the one to speak up first after absorbing the shocking news, "Doctor, if surgery is not performed how far, will it affect Diya's life?" The doctor replied, "Actually Diya's body is too weak to respond to the medication. If we do not perform the surgery we may lose her. But if surgery is performed we have a chance."
Diya's Dad spoke up immediately, "Please prepare for the surgery, I see only this as a small ray of light." "Surely." The doctor responded and continued. "Nurse? Please do the necessary arrangements and get the documents signed too. We will start the surgery in 10 minutes." "Yes. Doctor." The nurse replied and left the cabin.
"Tring........" The college bell rang.
The flashback took a break and Rohan was back to present day. The day was over.
Next day, on usual routine Rohan went to jogging. He spotted Roshni outside her Mother's shop. He waved a hand to her which was too unusual of him. Roshni waved back at him with a genuine smile. "Good morning!" Roshni greeted. "Good morning," Rohan replied.
Rohan: "How are you? Didn't see you at the class yesterday. All good?"
Roshni: "Oh yeah. All good. Just bunked the college. I and Sneha were hanging out at her place."
Rohan: "Oh cool."
Roshni: "Come on in. Let's have coffee. "
Rohan: "Hmm.. okay."
(There was something in her which he could not resist. He just said yes to her simply. And he went inside the shop.)
The coffee came to their table in few minutes. And Roshni by her habit took the first sip immediately and had a moustache of cream above her lips. Rohan this time unknowingly smiled.
Roshni: "Hmm.. Sorry, but.."
Rohan: "Yes, I remember. You like your coffee that way."
Roshni: "Oh.. Thank God. This time at least you are not staring at me like a weirdo."
Rohan: "Sorry for the last time. Actually, you reminded me of someone."
Roshni: "Oh..Ok.."
Rohan: "So coming to college today?"
Roshni: "I guess Yes. Sneha will drag me anyhow!"
Rohan: "Hmm.." "I will leave now. Dad must be waiting. See you at the college."
Roshni: "Okay sure. Bye"
This was the first time he mentioned about Diya to someone, not by name though. Something in him was hooking him up to Roshni. After a long time, he smiled genuinely seeing some other girl. Was he changing? Or finally, he was moving on?
Roshni on another side unaware of anything was slowly opening up to Rohan and talking to him. Was she breaking her insecurities or was she about to discover new feelings?
A/N: Decided to be regular on posting parts and new stories. Because the writer in me is screaming out loud from the cage. Stay tuned and keep liking.
