The last snow - part 5

Previously: The last snow - part 4

When Rohan was himself. When he fell in love!

“Listen, I want to tell you something.” Rohan was running behind Diya in the college campus near garden area who was walking to fast to avoid a conversation with him. “No. Just leave me alone. I don't want to talk to you.” Diya turned around just to reply to him and started walking profusely managing her books and bag. She was heading to the library while Rohan was following her getting enough attention of few other students. Rohan managed somehow to reach her and he held her right arm to stop her. “Phew! Finally. Got you! Don't make me burn so many calories baby.” Rohan with a sheepy smile. “You always make an excuse to jog with me. Not my fault if you don't want to increase your stamina. And leave my hand!” Diya with the same anger. “I love you!” Rohan said this and left holding on her. She sighed off. “Can we talk, please?” Rohan being serious this time. “Fine you have time till I reach library door.” “So, yesterday I had a conversation with Dad. I showed him my few paintings.” Rohan stopped speaking to notice Diya's face. She was anxious. Rohan got lost in her eyes and forgot that she was waiting for him to continue. “Will you say further or should I go?” Diya mocked at him. “Hmm..ya  ya actually the mascara in your eyes is catchy. And I got lost in your eyes. Your eyes are so serene and lovable.” Rohan was smiling all the time. “Is that what you said your Dad?” Diya was in no mood for his romance. This time Rohan was annoyed. He pulled her to a isolated gap of their college campus, which was famous as kissing spot in their college. It was a small gap between the two buildings of Science department and the library building. She did not resist when Rohan pulled her. She understood where he was taking her.

They reached the spot. They walked inside till they went unnoticed. And then Rohan placed her books and bag on the floor to grab her by her shoulders and made her stuck to the wall. She knew what was coming. Rohan made an eye contact and made sure that there was no space for any air molecule between them. He was close enough to make her smell his cologne. She was becoming calm and patient now. He knew when he comes so close to her, she can't hold her anger. He started speaking, “Yesterday, after showing the paintings to Dad. He said he will allow me to pursue my career in painting after I complete the degree with good CGPA. He has no problem with me having a different profession. He said he always wanted me to join the army like him, but he won't force it on me. He mentioned how happy he is that I had guts to tell him about my dreams. He said he would have been happy if Mom was there with us to see how independent and responsible I am becoming.” Diya with moist eyes was looking his moist eyes that had so much of love and care. Diya was happy that finally, after a long fight and argument he listened to her and had a heart to heart conversation with his Dad. She didn't know how to express what she felt. Before she can say anything. Rohan said, “Thank you for being in my life. I want to grow old with you, so that when I am stuck any point of my life, you show me the right path. I am glad at least I did not step back to confess my feelings for you. After mom you are the one so close to me. Never leave me alone, please. I don't want to even imagine my life without you. I..I lo..love you!” Rohan was weeping this time still holding her the same way looking down this time breaking the eye contact. Diya was weeping too. She removed Rohan's hand from her shoulders. She took his face in her palms and drew him closer to him. Closing her eyes, she tasted Rohan's lips. Rohan with an agreement kissed her back. It was not sensual, it was comfort they found in each other. The kiss was a seal saying that they are meant for each other. After tasting the love they broke the kiss and she hugged him and said, “I love you too!”

They broke the hug. Still holding each other. He asked, “Strawberry flavor?” licking his own lips. “Idiot! Yes!” Diya blushed. “I have one more thing to tell you.” Rohan was blushing this time. “What?” Diya in excitement. He broke the hug and lay on the opposite wall while Diya stood unmoved to the other wall. “Common what! Don't scare me!” Diya was waving her hands like a lunatic. Rohan was laughing at her gestures. “Hmm.. I had a long conversation with Dad yesterday. I found a friend in him yesterday.  After I shared with him about my dreams. He paused and asked me who is the girl?” Diya was stunned and stood expressionless. Rohan continued, “I told him there is no girl. He said I was lying to him. And he had a huge laugh later. Then he said, common, I know you are like me my boy. And you know how much I loved and love your mother. Every inch of her inspired me. And it's her faith and love on me which is why I was good enough to look after you.” Diya was still not understanding where the conversation went.

Rohan continued, “Then he asked me if there is a girl make sure she is the only one. She is special because she brought out the Rohan in you. And don't worry, I already like her.” Diya was blushing now. She was rubbing her hands in nervousness which was her usual habit. Rohan saw her and smiled and finally managed to say. “YES! I told him about you and how much I love you. And he has invited you home for dinner.” Diya was jumping now. She was super delighted that they are officially couple now. Since last month she already blurted out their love story at her home and her parents were perfectly cool with Rohan and her being together. After completing her little dance and jumping around, she went ahead and hugged him tightly as she can. Her joys were of no bounds. Rohan finally was complete emotionally and personally. He thought of a perfect life ahead. Even though his life will always be incomplete without his Mom. But he had faith of being strong for his Dad and the new life which was coming ahead. They broke their hug. Still holding each other and making an eye contact.

Rohan was so grateful to God for sending Diya in his life. She was his stress buster, a hug from her melted all his sorrows and complains. She was one foot less in height from Rohan, which is why whenever they hugged her face always lay upon his chest. Rohan starves for her hugs more than his favorite food. She was jovial and naive.
Her understanding and maturity had no bounds. She had her dreams of own. Sky was her limit. And being with Rohan forever was one of her most desired dreams. Being officially together now she knew a perfect life is ahead.

For around ten minutes they were holding each other and staring each other. The communication between their eyes had been the best part of their relationship. After smiling and blushing all the time Diya managed to ask, “Would you like some more strawberry?” “Yeah...Would love to.”  Rohan leaned forward to kiss Diya. But Diya leaned back and said, “Hey.. I was talking about strawberry ice-cream. Let's go cafeteria!”  Diya was laughing out loud. “You are so mean!” Rohan blushed and left Diya from his arms. He was brushing his own hairs for few seconds smiling. Diya gave him a small peck on his cheeks and dragged him out of the kissing spot holding his arm leading to the cafeteria.

A/N: Not all love stories have a happy ending. Sometimes someone just adds a meaning to your life and leaves you forever. This part is a small update just to say how beautiful love is!

What happened to Diya? How it feels to loose someone special to you? Is it easy to forget the first love?
